Earlier today Disney announced that it acquired Lucasfilms for 4.05 billion dollars which means it now owns Star Wars and Indiana Jones! Disney is also planning in the long term for Episodes 7, 8 and 9 with one released every 2-3 years. Disney had also recently acquired Marvel as well.

Samsung Galaxy Proclaim is a CDMA based phone running on the Verizon Wireless 3G network (non-roaming). The reason I’m mentioning this is because its the first Verizon Wireless based smartphone on the Straight Talk network. According to sources, the “unlimited” allotement will be 4GB a month.

Interestingly enough, this phone is a MUCH better deal then Verizon’s own prepaid solution the Samsung Illusion. Verizon’s own prepaid smartphone data plan tops out at 1GB a month on data at $80. The Straight Talk plan runs at only $45. If your interested in a Verizon based prepaid handset then look no futher (at the moment) then the Samsung Galaxy Proclaim on Straight Talk.

You can use your current AT&T phone (yes, even the iPhone) or T-mobile phone on Straight Talk. No, you don’t have to do anything fancy (like jailbreaking/rooting) your phone to get it to work. All you have to do is go HERE and purchase a sim card for $14.99. Just select either an AT&T Straight Talk sim card or an T-Mobile Straight Talk sim card. You can also select micro sim if your using an iPhone 4/4S.

Once it arrives, just stick it into your phones sim card slot and start your service. It is as simple as that. You do in fact get 3G service with the sim card (if you have 3G coverage in your area) and their “unlimited data” (tops out at 2GB). This is something to consider if you have been thinking prepaid but you want to keep your phone. 

If you are on AT&T or T-mobile and are about to be off contract then this is something to think about.

Virgin Mobile announced today a brand new phone dubbed HTC Evo V. This phone will have Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich), Mobile Hotspot, 4.3″ HD Touchscreen, 5.0 MP Camera & Camcorder, HDMI and 4G/3G & Wi-Fi capable. The 4G service operates off of Wi/Max. 4G plans will still run you $35/month and still included unlimited data and messaging!
